Sixty-four families lost their precariously built homes yesterday, Thursday, as a result of a fire caused by a “demented” young man in zone 10 of the main town of Viana, in Luanda.
The misfortune happened at five o’clock, specifically on Rua dos Coronéis, next to the former refugee camp, where the families had their homes (huts).
Speaking to the press, the sector coordinator, Carlos Benedito, said that the fire caused incalculable material damage to families from Bié, Bengo and Huambo, residing in that plot.
Civil Protection and Fire Service personnel extinguished the fire, which did not cause any human casualties.
