Last night, a short but serious fire raged in an apartment building on the Hallaarstraat in Itegem, a sub-municipality of Heist-op-den-Berg. The residents of the five apartments in the building were able to bring themselves to safety in time. One of them, the occupant of the apartment where the fire broke out, was arrested by the police. He is suspected to have lit the fire.
