The video was shot on Monday evening by one of the holidaymakers. Through a dance of fire from Polynesia, the scene ignites, but so far nothing abnormal. A little later, a dancer joined backstage. “When the dancer left the stage, he went backstage and the backstage caught fire. And there were other dancers who were injured too,” says a lady. The fire then spread to a shed where fireworks were stored. The dancer was badly burned along with three other people. All were treated in hospitals. In all, 500 vacationers were evacuated. They were able to return to the campsite. Was it necessary to maintain this kind of spectacle in the middle of a heat wave and fire? According to Sylvie Michel, the director of the campsite, everything was planned in case of problems. The prefecture of the Pyrénées-Orientales tells us that this type of show organized within a private establishment which welcomes the public is not subject to any administrative authorization.
