The fire brigade again turned out en masse to grand café De Drie Gezusters in Groningen on Tuesday evening.
A ‘smoldering piece in the ceiling’ was the cause of the smoke, the fire brigade reported. He went to the roof in the Gelkingestraat with a cherry picker.

Reports had been received by the fire brigade that smoke had been detected by employees of De Drie Gezusters. “We carry out demolition work to see where the smoke is coming from.”
Parts of the Grote Markt and Gelkingestraat were temporarily closed.
Fire due to work on the roof
The emergency services were already deployed on Tuesday afternoon for a fire at De Drie Gezusters. The fire was caused by work on the roof of the cafe.
The fire brigade then checked through demolition work whether the fire was actually out. No more fires were found.
