The fire brigade had to turn out on Saturday for a bizarre entrapment on the A1 near Oldenzaal. A motorist was nearly strangled by her dog’s leash. The animal had gone for a walk in the moving car and thus maneuvered the leash around its owner’s neck.
Door NU.nlThe woman had gone for a short drive on the highway in her car to recharge the battery. The dog, who was sitting in the back seat, decided to walk around the car in circles. As a result, he accidentally wrapped the belt he was wearing around his owner’s neck, reports RTV East.

The driver panicked and stopped her car in the emergency lane. There she called 911 to ask if someone could free her from her predicament.

After the woman was freed, she was able to continue driving. The emergency services did demand that the animal be better secured in the car this time, to prevent the same problem from occurring again.
