“Lebanon Debate”
On Tuesday morning, a fire broke out on board one of the ships parked inside the port of Tripoli in a scene that brought to mind the Beirut port explosion, but of course it was not of the size, impact, or repercussions of what happened in terms of material damage or lives.
The call to extinguish the fire was quickly responded to, preventing it from spreading, thus sparing Tripoli and Lebanon a new disaster.
In detail, the fire that broke out inside the ship parked in the port of Tripoli, its black clouds covered the sky of Tripoli, and the civil defense and firefighting teams rushed to extinguish it at maximum speed amid strict security measures that prevented approaching the place.
In this context, the Director of the Port of Tripoli, Dr. Ahmed Tamer, confirmed to “Lebanon Debate” that “the matter did not pose any danger, but rather it was a small fire that was controlled by the Civil Defense team and the Red Cross who rushed to the place in anticipation of any emergency.”
Tamer reassured that “the damage was limited to material things, and the matter ended there.”
