On the night of Thursday, the emergency services responded to a fire at a nursing home in Skogsvåg on Sotra.
Large resources were sent from Øygarden, but also Bergen when the message came in at 0051.
– There was a fire in the kitchen in one department. The residents were evacuated and taken over to the opposite end of the nursing home, says duty commander Helge Lund at the 110 central.
There was a lot of smoke in the building at one point, but the fire was confined to the room in question.
Got a health check
Lund says that the employees responded in a good way when the fire alarm went off.
– Seems like they have good routines, he says.
No injuries have been reported. Nevertheless, both employees and residents were given a health check, as it is suspected that people may have inhaled smoke.
Examines material damage
The fire was quickly extinguished. Specialists moved out from the fire station in Arna to assist the nursing home in reducing material damage.
Lund currently does not know details about the kitchen that burned.
– Now we will ventilate and see how much damage there is, he says.
