“Fire Breaks Out at Charcoal Restaurant in Groningen City Center”

A fire broke out at a charcoal restaurant on Boterdiep in the city of Groningen on Sunday afternoon. “There was a fire in the extractor in the kitchen,” said a spokesman for the fire service. “Everyone was able to leave the building in time.”

The fire service has scaled up to ‘major fire’. The spokesperson: ‘Because it concerns a building in the city center and to prevent expansion. In addition to firefighting vehicles, two cherry pickers and a submersible pump are also on the way.’
