Fire Breaks Out at Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Site in Bekasi City

BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) in Bekasi City, fireSunday (29/10/2023) afternoon.

One of the residents who owns a trading stall there, named Mila (23), confirmed the incident.

“We received information that the fire occurred at around 14.00 WIB,” said Mila when contacted, Sunday.

He himself was not in the Bantargebang TPST area. He was in a house not far from the rubbish dump area.

Mila said the fire caused the sky to darken because of the smoke it caused.

“From where I was, I could only see smoke, I couldn’t see the fire. The sky was dark,” said Mila.

According to information shared by colleagues, the fire broke out in one of the mountains of rubbish near where heavy equipment was parked.

“They said the fire was in a mountain of rubbish near the excavator equipment area,” continued Mila.
