Baden-Württemberg Fire in swimming pool in Weinheim

Weinheim (dpa/lsw) – According to the swimming pool, a fire in an adventure pool in Weinheim (Rhein-Neckar district) on Saturday morning caused damage worth around 100,000 euros. As a police spokesman said on Saturday, the fire broke out in the kitchen before the bathroom was opened. There were therefore already employees in the building at the time of the fire, but no guests. According to the spokesman, there were no injuries. The police initially assumed that the fire had occurred due to a technical defect.
The water park said numerous appliances, including a high-quality dishwasher, were destroyed by the fire. The affected kitchen sink area cannot currently be used, it said. Disposable tableware will be used until the room is renovated. The swimming pool opened around midday.
