Today, Tuesday, Major General Gamal Nour El-Din, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, directed the officials of the Health Affairs Directorate in the governorate to provide full care for patients who survived the fire in the intensive care unit at Sidi Salem Central Hospital.
According to a statement issued by the governorate, the governor instructed health officials to transfer 13 cases who were receiving treatment in the care department of Sidi Salem Hospital to Kafr El-Sheikh General Hospital, and to transfer children from the hospital’s nursery to Desouk General Hospital, in order to preserve their lives despite the safety of the incubation department.
The governor said, in the statement, that the accident did not cause any injuries so far, and follow-up is underway with health leaders regarding all cases.
The Directorate of Health Affairs in Kafr El-Sheikh recorded the first death of a patient who was receiving treatment in the intensive care department at Sidi Salem Central Hospital, in the fire that broke out in the department and destroyed it.
According to an official source, to “Masrawy”, it was found that “Rawiya A.G” died after arriving at the private hospital, to which the patients of the intensive care department at Sidi Salem Hospital were transferred to complete their treatment, after the patients were evacuated from the care department.
A fire broke out this evening, Tuesday, in the intensive care department of Sidi Salem Central Hospital in Kafr El-Sheikh, which caused the department’s respirators to malfunction, while the hospital administration transferred all patients to a private hospital for help, before the fire that destroyed the care department was completely controlled.
