A fire broke out during the night from Saturday to Sunday, in Vindry-sur-Turdine, near Tarare.

The fire started in the barn of a farm in Vindry-sur-Turdine, 6 kilometers from Tarare in the Rhône. A total of 44 animals died in the fire, including cows and goats. Controlling the fire, which required around fifty firefighters, was complicated by the 400 tonnes of hay and fertilizer stored on site.

Nothing remains of the barn but the firefighters, mobilized until 9:45 a.m. this Sunday morning, were still able to save 70 cows, according to information from the Progress.

On Friday, another fire broke out in the department, in Saint-Vincent-de-Reins, ravaging 2.5 hectares of forest. No injuries were noted.
