The President Director (Director) of Dr Kariadi Hospital, Farichah Hanum, gave an explanation about the fire incident at the hospital on Jalan dr Sutomo, Semarang City. Faricah said the fire had appeared since the afternoon.
Faricah said that the fire broke out at 16.15 WIB in the MRI room. However, the fire was getting bigger and around 19.00 WIB the flames looked high.
“This afternoon at around 16.15 WIB, there was a fire in the MRI room of the Oncology installation,” said Farichah at the location, Thursday (12/30/2021) night.
“Our internal team was aware of a potential fire, all of them moved quickly how we had to anticipate fire hazard markers. How our team had to evacuate patients, important documents, evacuate the equipment needed. We did that appropriately,” he explained.
50 patients Evacuated
Faricah said that until tonight around 50 patients were evacuated to a safe place.
“So far, we have evacuated 50 patients at the Kasuari installation, which we are now placing at the Garuda installation. What is clear is that all of them have received the proper rooms, we must provide the best service,” he said.

The fire has now been extinguished, but it is not yet possible to determine the cause of the fire because the authorities are still conducting an investigation.
“The cause is still waiting for further investigations. We have checked earlier, all have been evacuated. We are waiting for the investigation, when it is completed we will confirm how it operates,” he said.
Regarding patient care, he said he was not too disturbed because patients around the location had been evacuated.
“Hopefully today’s incident can be resolved soon and all services can return to normal,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, inspected the location of the fire at Dr Kariadi Hospital. He ensures that services for patients are not interrupted.
“Let the public not speculate too much, this is between what is used for patients and the building (which is on fire) is not one, separate and all have been evacuated,” said Ganjar at the location.
