The police first reported the fire at 01.32 on Saturday night.

The fire broke out in a room on the second floor of the hotel in Storgata, and the rescue services were in place after a few minutes to evacuate the hotel guests and start extinguishing the fire.

About 20 minutes after the first report, the police reported that the fire had been extinguished.

– No people have been reported injured, police said.

The fire brigade was notified by an automatic fire alarm, and it was quickly established that it was a fire.

– Smoke divers are on their way in and the entire hotel is being evacuated, said operations manager Gjermund Stokkli in the Oslo police district to NTB.

At 2.10, the guests who stayed on the third floor and upwards were allowed to return to their rooms.

– Residents on the first and second floor have to wait a bit, says operations manager Stokkli.
