The Crimean bridge connecting the occupied Crimean peninsula and the territory of Russia is on fire again on Saturday and explosions can be heard, according to materials published on social networks.
On the “Krimskij veter” channel of the “Telegram” website, it can be read that traffic over the Crimea bridge is temporarily closed, as well as information that the bridge is seriously damaged.
Photos and videos showing the plume of smoke above the bridge are also published on other social networks.
Sergey Aksenov, the head of the Crimea occupation administration created by Russia, announced that “air defense forces shot down two enemy missiles in the Kerch Strait”. He claimed that the bridge was not damaged and that the smoke was a “smoke screen created by the special services” and not the result of an airstrike.
On the night of Saturday, the occupying authorities stopped traffic over the Crimean bridge for several hours, without explaining the reasons for doing so.
Attacks on the Crimean bridge, which the occupiers use for traffic with the Ukrainian peninsula, have already occurred several times.
Last year, on October 8, the railway part of the bridge exploded, and on July 17, part of the road transport lane was destroyed. The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has acknowledged that the Security Service of Ukraine is behind both incidents.
