On Thursday (7th), a fire broke out in the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department building; on the same day, another explosion occurred in the Zhangjiagang Municipal Government Building in Jiangsu Province.

The building where the fire broke out was a high-rise building on the right side of the gate of the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department.
After the incident, mainland netizens such as “Nanjing Motianhan” and other Weibo accounts posted relevant pictures and videos, but they were quickly deleted, and topics related to “Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department Fire” were also blocked. As of now, Nanjing officials have not reported any relevant information about the fire.
Public information shows that Li Yaoguang, the current director of the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department, also serves as the deputy governor of Jiangsu Province and deputy secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial Committee.
Two weeks ago, a fire broke out in a 34-story residential building in Nanjing, killing at least 15 people. However, the fire that occurred at the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department came during a sensitive period when the Two Sessions of the Communist Party of China were held. According to multiple pictures of the scene posted online, a large amount of white smoke was coming out of the foyer of the Zhangjiagang Municipal Government Building. The glass and door frame in the foyer of the building had been severely damaged after the explosion. There was also a deformed liquefied petroleum gas cylinder outside the foyer.
On the morning of March 7, a photo of a flyer signed “Yuan Jianhong” was posted online. The flyer read, “I am the one who bombed the Zhangjiagang City Government. I demand that corrupt officials be punished and that I be given back my factory, private residence and other unequal treatment. I am waiting to surrender.” The flyer is signed with the person’s name and ID number.
“Zhangjiagang Talent Network” shows that Yuan Jianhong is the legal representative of Zhangjiagang Hesheng CNC Machine Tool Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and the company contact person is Yuan Linfei. The company was established in 2003 and its registered address is Nanfeng Town, Zhangjiagang City. However, on February 10, 2024, the company’s legal representative was changed to Yuan Linfei.
According to the official website, Zhangjiagang Hesheng CNC Machine Tool Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is located at No. 17, Old 204 National Highway Section, Nanfeng Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zhangjiagang City. The company covers an area of 20,000 square meters and a building area of 15,000 square meters. It specializes in manufacturing and production Pipe bending machines, metal circular saw machines, pipe end forming machines and other complete pipe processing equipment.
According to public information, Han Wei is currently the Secretary of the Zhangjiagang Municipal Party Committee, and Cai Jianfeng is currently the Mayor of Zhangjiagang City.
