(ANSA) – FLORENCE, MAR 09 – Fiorentina beat Turkish Sivasspor 1-0 at home in the opening game of the first leg of the round of 16 second edition of the Conference League.
Czech midfielder Antonín Barak scored, at 69′, the winning goal for Fiorentina, who will seek to qualify for the next round on Thursday the 16th, when the rematch will be played in Turkey.
Fiorentina lined up the Argentines Lucas Martínez Quarta and Nicolás González (replaced at 80′) with the Brazilians Dodó (reprimanded) and Igor Júlio, whose compatriot Arthur Cabral entered at 68′.
In turn, Sivasspor had the Ecuadorian Jordy Caicedo (replaced at 68′) and suffered the expulsion of the Ivorian Max-Alain Gradel in the fourth added minute of the complement.
Sivasspor fans displayed a banner at the Artemio Franchi stadium to thank “Italy’s solidarity and support” after the devastating earthquake that caused more than 50,000 deaths in Turkey.
