The Viola advanced his game of the weekend to arrive rested to the final of Conference League against West Ham next Wednesday. Beyond that, Vincenzo Italiano spared no expense in planning the last date of Serie A and the Florence team prevailed against Neroverdi 3-1 as a visitor.

Fiorentina dominated from early on and arrived with two very clear situations before the initial quarter of an hour. Arthur Cabral crashed a pike header to the ground against Alessandro Russo’s left post and, after a while, demanded the goalkeeper with a missile of almost 35 meters that the Sassuolo goalkeeper deflected just enough.

The hosts did very little, just scared with a swing by Andrea Pinamonti that washed away the left post of Michele Cerofolini who was guarding the cave of the Tuscany team while Pietro Terracciano rested on the bench waiting for the Conference League final.

The prize for Fiorentina came a minute into the second half when Sofyan Amrabat opened the field to the left for Aleksa Terzic who launched a cross that was not too dangerous. Russo dove for the cut, couldn’t catch the ball, and Arthur Cabral grabbed the ball to push it into the back of the dugout.

Sassuolo reacted in time. He was able to equalize with a left-footed shot from Domenico Berardi that Cerofolini covered, although he managed it a while later when Arthur Cabral went from hero to villain, deflected the round with his arm, and through the VAR there was a penalty for the homeowner that Berardi himself it did not fail.

With game 11, the one who returned to the attack was Viola who, after 33 minutes, put himself back in the lead with a supreme swing by Riccardo Saponara to hang it from Russo’s upper left corner. And, the icing on the cake, came the appearance of Nicolás González from behind everyone to connect headlong to settle the story.

Sassuolo, which ended Friday night with the expulsions of Ruan and Rogerio, closed a Serie A season with the goal of permanence. Fiorentina said goodbye to the championship with a 3-1 win and now turned all its attention to what will be next Wednesday’s Conference League final.
