FLORENCE (ITALPRESS) – Fiorentina grabbed an unexpected draw (2-2) in injury time after being two goals down and having suffered against Ferencvaros for almost an hour of play. It was Italiano’s changes that made the difference with Quarta and his teammates first stunned and then resurrected thanks to the additions during the race. Dejan Stankovic’s men are eating their hands, unable to manage a lead that at a certain point seemed substantial and with the inertia of the match in their favor.
The match was channeled in favor of the visiting team from the first half, as the Gigliati played with a calm rhythm and committed a high number of errors. The Viola midfield is the one that suffers the most and it is no coincidence that in the 25th minute Varga takes advantage of a cross from the right by Ben Rohmane, the latter capable of mocking Biraghi. The hosts felt the pinch, very few balls ended up at Beltran’s feet with only Bonaventura trying to give him assistance.
After the interval Biraghi remained in the changing rooms and Parisi entered, but the start of the second half was a shock for Fiorentina: first a penalty awarded for a foul by Ranieri on Varga then revoked for offside in the initial phase of the action, then Ferencvaros’ second goal with a header by Cissè following a corner by Abu Fani. Sixty seconds later Ben Romdhane also hits the post but perhaps this action is also tainted by offside. Just before game time, Italiano revolutionizes his team: Mandragora, Maxime Lopez and Sottil out and Arthur, Kouame and Barak in. Precisely the latter from a free kick by Parisi in the 65th minute brings Fiorentina back into the game: 1-2. A few moments after the last Viola substitution the Gigliati found the 2-2 but Nico Gonzalez put in from an offside position. The final equalizer was found by another substitute, Ikonè on an assist from Gonzalez, with the latter also failing to achieve the sensational 3-2 in the 95th minute. In the standings Viola have 2 points, Ferencvaros in the lead with 4 and Genk victorious 2-0 on the Cukaricki pitch.
