Finns surprise when choosing frames – Do you have these kinds of glasses too? – 2024-04-02 04:47:54

On average, a Finn changes his glasses once every three years.

The majority of Finns, i.e. 71 percent, wear glasses or contact lenses either all the time or sometimes.

About 40 percent of people who wear glasses consider the importance of glasses to their appearance and personality to be great.

This information appears from the “How Suomi Sees” study commissioned by Silmäasema.

According to Silmäasema’s customer data, the average wearer of glasses goes shopping for glasses about once every three years.

Eye health problems start to be experienced mainly after the age of 40. After that, age-related vision, dry eyes and weak distance vision start to bother you most often.

Silmäasema’s press release states that, contrary to prejudice, Finns are more likely than many Europeans to choose frames that suit their own style and stand out from the crowd.

Gold beats silver

Finns prefer frames with a simple and timeless style. Gold-colored metal parts are much more popular than silver-colored ones.

The lightweight titanium frame is a particular favorite of Finns.

According to Silmäasema’s press release, the frame colors favored by Finns are bold.

The most common colors chosen are burgundy, black and brown. In terms of colors, the eyeglass frames have shades of green and blue, especially petrol.

Based on the data collected by Silmäasema, Finns seem to still prefer round shapes in eyeglass frames, even though angularity is already a very visible trend in other countries.
