We cannot allow Russia’s influence in Ukraine, because that could lead to unpredictable consequences, the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, Jussi Hallaaho, stressed at the third parliamentary summit of the Crimean International Platform .
He emphasized that Russia failed at the beginning of the war because it hoped to defeat Ukraine quickly, but that did not happen and now Russia hopes that the war will be win in the long run.
Hallaaho regretted that it looks like time is working in Russia’s favor right now, but it is possible to correct it and show Russia that time is its worst enemy.
He emphasized that the society in Russia is ready to accept economic problems. He believes that Ukraine needs to be helped even more so that it does not become stronger in the long run.
Hallaaho thanked the Baltic countries for their strong support for Ukraine and wanted other countries to support Ukraine with the same enthusiasm.
The member of the House of Representatives of Cyprus, Anita Demetriou, also said in her speech that Cyprus fully supports Ukraine.
She stressed that Russia’s brutal attack on Ukraine is not only an attack on Ukraine, but on all democratic countries. That is why Ukraine must be strong and supportive to make Russia pay for what it has done.
The politician expressed confidence that Cyprus will never agree to the division of the territory of the sovereign state. This will affect not only Ukraine, but also Cyprus and any other country in the world that has internationally recognized borders.
