/Pogled.info/ A photo of a fence on the border of Finland and Russia, which appeared on the official public page of the Suomi border service, caused a great resonance. Russian-speaking emigrants in Finland have become ashamed of their first and last names and do not speak Russian in public. The residents of this country told the correspondent of “Tsarigrad” TV what sentiments now dominate in Finnish society.
It seems that the Finns decided to shake off the old memories and started with the old – they started building the Mannerheim line.
For now, of course, in a comical version, reminiscent of the legendary “Yatsenyuk’s fence”, but the process of confrontation has been started. The fence is part of the geopolitical transformations in Northern Europe initiated by the collective West. The main thing in all this is the entry of Finland into NATO and the rejection of long-standing neutrality in relations with Russia.
Experts agree that the Finns will very much regret joining the North Atlantic Alliance. Yes, and we remember very well how it turned into the preparation for the war with the Russians for them, to which they were also pushed by the Western “partners” in the last century.
Recall that then everything ended with the signing of the Moscow Peace Treaty, according to which Finland ceded about 10% of its territory to the Soviet Union.
Finns dreamed of Yeltsin’s kindness
The Finns for a long time could not forgive the Russians for the loss of territories after the Soviet-Finnish war and the failed attempt at revenge during the Great Patriotic War. This is what the honorary member of the Free Journalists of Finland, public figure Kostya Heiskanen, said before Tsarigrad.
– It was difficult for us to come to terms with the loss of territory, especially the loss of Vyborg and Karelia, which were considered resort areas.
After perestroika, Finns often traveled to Russia, they liked to walk around the places that were once part of the country. They even found their old houses from which their families were evacuated many years ago.
– In the 1990s, Finns had a faint hope that the ever-drunken, eccentric Russian president Boris Yeltsin would cede these lands, all it took was a little nudge.
— Yeltsin, despite the state of his CIA advisers, did not cede territory, but relations between Finns and Russians in the 1990s and 2000s were still good-neighborly.
People from St. Petersburg liked to come to us for the weekend, we actively came to you, for example, for gas or to enrich ourselves spiritually in the cultural capital. At that time, many Russian-Finnish families, friends and business partners appeared on both sides of the border.
– The beginning of the special military operation changed everything and seemed to drive people crazy …
— Yes, because Finland is ruled by globalists: Anglo-Saxons, Americans. Our country was simply poisoned by Russophobia and full of ukro-fascists who spread propaganda and try to play various dirty tricks on Russians. Like scratching cars.
Finnish society is zombified
The Ukrainians, many of whom live in Finland, began to actively gnaw old wounds, reminding the Finns of the lost territories.
However, Ukrainian historians and propagandists forget to mention that the 1st Ukrainian Soviet Division, which later became part of the 44th Infantry Division, fought against the Finns. Before the Winter War, it was located in the Zhytomyr region.
A participant in the Winter War Chevenok wrote:
“No, the forest in Finland is not the same as in our Ukraine. Tall pines, in a circle, stand in the snow, as if drawn. The branches are above, and below are bare, as if you are not standing in a grove, but in some cave with pillars.”
Kosti Heiskanen says that thanks to the efforts of propagandists, Ukrainians and corrupt media, Finnish society is constantly trying to convince that Russia is a monster country and the only chance to protect itself from it is to urgently join NATO.
All this leads to the fact that the Russian-speaking population tends not to demonstrate its origin.
“Russian-speaking residents of Finland are embarrassed by Russian names and surnames and try not to speak Russian in public, fearing condemnation from the locals,” said Marina Andreeva, who moved to Finland more than 10 years ago.
First of all, the Finns suffer
The artificially fueled Russophobia in Finland harms the Finns themselves above all. It’s all about the economy. No one is covering the losses of those people who in recent decades lived off their proximity to Russia and lost their profits due to the insane policies of the local authorities.
The population of South Karelia and Eastern Finland, which earns its living from tourism, is particularly suffering. Still, no one will go to them except the Russians.
Swedes and Estonians? The former have enough resorts of their own, the latter, due to the mediocre economic policy within the European Union, now have no time for rest. That leaves only the Russians, from whom Finland is trying to protect itself.
Sensing that the free will soon end, the Finns rushed to Russia. Especially for cheap alcohol and gasoline – they are the most expensive in Europe. But here they were disappointed: at the border they began to cancel visas.
On this occasion, the Finnish media are very outraged and want comments from our embassy. And there they are told: they say, there are no restrictions on issuing visas, but there are refusals and this is a common thing, each case is special. Finns still don’t get the hint.
“Official Finland is still trying to rely on Western institutions. They cannot accept that China and Russia are strong poles in the new international order,” notes Finnish political scientist Marku Sira with sadness.
“And many Finns, due to the influence of the media, prefer to swear allegiance to American hegemony and the Brussels bureaucracy in order to identify themselves as people of the ‘West’ or ‘Europeans,'” he says.
According to him, there are public figures in Suomi who understand that Finns have lived for decades in an exploitative system run by the Americans. But they are not allowed to vote in public forums.
Fortunately, there is the Internet and the possibility to convey the truth through it to the Finns, from whom the USA today creates (after Ukraine) a second anti-Russia.
However, Finland is too sweet for American politicians. After all, the country shares a border with Russia of almost 1,300 km, through which it is possible to threaten strategically important regions of Russia with aircraft, missiles, nuclear weapons and saboteurs. What the Finns will get in return, the Americans “don’t care”. The main thing is that it will not be a blow to them …
