The Finnish head of state Sanna Marin is currently causing a positive stir: she visited a rock festival during her vacation – including the matching outfit.
Helsinki – When Europe’s heads of state go on vacation, the photos usually don’t give much that is particularly exciting. Ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel usually went hiking. Her successor Olaf Scholz did the same on Sunday: after the Lindner wedding, he imitated himself RTL-Indications with his wife also on a hiking trip on Sylt. Finland’s Prime Minister Sanna Marin thinks differently.

The 36-year-old head of state is not only causing enthusiasm in her home country, because: she enjoyed her weekend off at a rock festival. There she was photographed in a casual rocker look. She can be seen on an Instagram picture wearing cut-off jeans, a leather jacket and biker boots, apparently beaming at the camera backstage behind a stage. The organizers of the Ruisrock festival on the island of Ruissalo, which belongs to the southwestern Finnish city of Turku, shared the black and white portrait of photographer Janita Autio on their Instagram page.
Marin received a lot of praise for the look and probably also for the festival visit itself: “Legend”, “wow”, so cool” and “number one prime minister in the world”, some fans commented on the post. The politician is known for her fondness for rock music.

Marin confirmed the visit on her own account. There she posted a photo showing her with husband Markus Raikkonen. “Today the vacation started. Towards Turku in Finland and Ruisrock,” she wrote. The politician then shared some videos from the festival in her Instagram story. It becomes clear that she doesn’t need an honorary box or anything like that when she visits the festival. Apparently she was standing very relaxed in the middle of the crowd and listening to the music.
It was not known whether, like many other festival visitors, she drank canned beer and took part in the usual wild pogo dances in front of the stage. (dpa/rjs)
