Finland, Sweden to Denmark Stop Injecting Moderna Vaccine to Young Adults Related to Myocarditis

“A Nordic study involving Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark found that men under the age of 30 who received Moderna Spikevax had a slightly higher risk than others of developing myocarditis,” said director Mika Salminen of the health institute.

Heart Muscle Inflammation

Professor Salminen said myocarditis, which means inflammation of the heart muscle, usually clears up on its own within a few days.

He said as a precaution, Finland would only give the Pfizer vaccine to young people.

Sweden’s health agency says it will stop using Modern Vaccine This is for people aged 30 years and under, then because data show an increase in myocarditis and pericarditis among vaccinated adolescents and young adults.

“The relationship is very clear when it comes to the Spikevax Moderna vaccine, especially after the second dose,” the health agency said, adding that the risk of exposure was very small.

Miocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle while pericarditis is inflammation of the lining outside the heart.
