Fines for rioting hooligans. Slovan Bratislava and Trnava will pay 1.4 million crowns. And that’s not all

Slovak football clubs Spartak Trnava and Slovan Bratislava received fines in the total amount of 55,000 euros (approximately 1.4 million crowns) for unfinished derbys, and fans of both clubs will also have limited access to the upcoming matches. The disciplinary commission decided on Thursday. The league hit between the two best teams of the competition was prematurely terminated on October 17 after a quarter of an hour of play due to riots by fans of both teams and was later consumed in favor of the visiting Slav.

The Trnava club, as the organizer, was fined 35,000 euros and will play the next three home matches without spectators. Only children under the age of 15 will be able to enter the auditorium.

The disciplinary commission sentenced Slovan a penalty of 20,000 euros and banned his fans from going to four matches on the opponents’ pitches. In addition, fans of both clubs will not be able to travel to each other until the end of the league year.

Circumstances at the Trnava stadium went awry after the fans of both teams ran onto the playing area and served right on the lawn. After the intervention of the organizing service, the fans managed to get back, but the riots continued in the stands.

The heavily-clothed people then evacuated the visiting supporters sector. Referee Filip Glova first interrupted the match in a goalless state and then ended it prematurely after a long forced break.
