Electric cars and charging stations in cities are increasing. But it’s not all pink and flowers. In fact, as a consequence, the ‘crafty ones’ of the charging stop are also increasing. Who risks sanctions? How much are they? Here’s everything you need to know!
The switch to electric is radically changing consumer habits. More and more car manufacturers want to accelerate the transition to this new way of experiencing the car. In the coming years we will see more and more hybrid and electric cars on our roads. Lately, moreover, all large and small cities are increasing the number of charging stations for cars in circulation. For example, in Rome – by 2025 – the number of places where you can recharge your electric car could almost triple and reach 5,000!
But there is a big problem. Or rather, there are also the crafty ones of the electric columns! Unfortunately, there are rude people and profiteers in every sphere and sector. But now the situation has been regulated. Indeed, in the latest Infrastructure and Transport Decree the problem of parking electric cars was raised. From this moment on, the crafty ones will be discouraged from making improper use of parking in the charging areas. What does the law on the parking of electric cars provide? Here’s what you need to know and what the penalties are!
Sanctions for people who take advantage of electricity columns beyond measure!
Practically, from now on, parking spaces and recharging spaces will be differentiated. In the former, the stop will always be allowed, but – obviously – only to electric cars. In the recharging spaces, however, it will be possible to stop only and exclusively to recharge the car. And time has also been regularized.
We come now to the fines. If a user equipped with a car with an internal combustion engine were to park in a space reserved for electric cars, the penalty will be 87 euro. It will come down to 41 euro in case a moped is placed in the wrong space!
As regards, however, the recharging of electric cars in the recharging spaces – as mentioned – you can stop only in case of actual need to recharge and use the columns! All this to avoid any abuse by the usual profiteers!
The standard from now on provides that anyone who stops in the recharging space without actually recharging their vehicle will have to be punished with a fine of 87 euros. And the same goes for those who have to extend the stop in the charging space by more than an hour compared to the actual completion of the battery recharge!
In addition, there may be gods in the various charging stations sensors to detect any unauthorized or excessively prolonged stops! Hard life, therefore, for the crafty of electric recharges!
