The competence network in the gas and water sector
The DVGW promotes the gas and water sector in all technical and scientific matters. In its work, the association focuses in particular on the topics of safety, hygiene, environmental and consumer protection. With the development of its technical rules, the DVGW enables the technical self-administration of the gas and water industry in Germany. In this way, it guarantees a secure gas and water supply in accordance with the highest international standards. The association, founded in 1859, has around 14,000 members. The DVGW acts economically independently and politically neutral
