With the “Finders Keepers” format, a format that DWDL.de only put in the jewel box of MIPCOM a few weeks ago, it will soon come to Germany. Distributed by Be-Entertainment, the German version was implemented by Bavaria Entertainment for private broadcaster RTLzwei. Belgium is the motherland of the format, where after a good start a full season is now being prepared to be broadcast in 2023.
As for the content: you could say that in the past some parts of the television have been renewed, now they are being devastated. In “Finders Keepers” a family has the chance to win €100,000. The production team hides this sum in the family home. The family then has 30 minutes to find the money. It can be anywhere. This has already led to rather angry attempts to uncover the sum, which by far hasn’t left everything intact. You can keep the money you find: after 30 minutes, the whole family must leave the house within ten seconds.
Be-Entertainment’s Gepke Nederlof reports huge interest in the format following reports from MIPCOM. “The reactions have been very positive and we are currently discussing it in a number of countries. It’s one of those shows that has a good sense of humor and is entertaining, and can be produced on an affordable budget.” Details of the first season of RTLzwei, such as the exact scope or a probable broadcast date, have not yet been determined. With the purchase of “Finders Keepers”, on the other hand, RTLzwei is continuing on the path it has recently taken. A little away from social news and towards factual shows and programmes.
