Find the amounts from dormant life insurance contracts and inactive accounts thanks to the Ciclade service

Since January 2017, the Banque des Territoires has made this general interest service available to you, created in application of the law of 13 June 2014.

It concerns all bank accounts or company savings plan accounts considered as inactive, but also dormant life insurance contracts (without the subscriber’s manifestation once the contract has expired).

Before closing the accounts or contracts, the financial institution invites the account holder or the subscriber of the life insurance contract to come forward.

In the absence of a response to the letters after the prescribed deadlines, the financial institution closes the account or the life insurance contract.

These sums are then transferred to the Caisse de Dépôts which will keep them for a period of 20 years.

The service available on www.ciclade.fr allows you to find these sums from life insurance accounts and contracts opened in France, by carrying out a search by holders, beneficiaries or heirs.

If a match is found, you will then need to create your personal space in order to finalize your return request.

Once this step is completed, you will be able to follow the progress of your request in real time by consulting the messaging system integrated into your personal space. You will also be notified by email whenever the status of your request changes.

After 30 years of inactivity and without manifestation of the holder of the inactive accounts or of the subscriber of the dormant life insurance contracts, of the beneficiaries / heirs or beneficiaries, the money is definitively paid back to the State or to the Collectives of ‘Overseas.

It is then no longer possible to request its return.
