After Avengers Endgame, a new page has turned for the MCU. Several heroes have hung up the costume to make way for the new generation. The franchise has also introduced plenty of new young superheroes in recent months, including Ms Marvel, Kate Bishop (Hawkeye), America Chavez, Iron Heart and Cassie Lang (Ant-Man).
There are also those who arrived later in the MCU such as Spider-Man or Captain Marvel, and without forgetting those who take up the torch like Sam Wilson and Shuri who are respectively the new Captain America and Black Panther.
Everything therefore suggests that Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Captain America or even Black Panther represent the future of the MCU for the next few years to come. Brie Larson, however, does not share this opinion: for the interpreter of Carol Danvers, the future of the MCU is Ms Marvel!
Brie Larson believes in Ms Marvel!
Ms Marvel joined the MCU in 2022 with her own miniseries: Fans met Kamala Khan, a Pakistani and Muslim teenager who is a huge Captain Marvel fan. Her life changes when she finds herself with superpowers overnight. Sparkling and refreshing, the character really has its place in the future of the MCU according to Brie Larson.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine, the actress sang the praises of Ms Marvel and her interpreter, Iman Vellani. Brie Larson is firmly convinced that a bright future awaits the duo within the MCU: « Iman [Vellani] is the future. She is the perfect Ms Marvel and the most amazing person and casting partner. I’m so excited for her success and I’m so excited to see what she’s going to do with her life because she can do whatever she wants. She is one of my favorite people on this earth. A big part of why I wanted to play Captain Marvel was because of Ms Marvel and what it meant. Seeing this character done by such a brilliant human with so much potential is just a really exciting thing,” said the actress with great enthusiasm.
Ms Marvel returns to theaters this year in The Marvels, with a release date announced for November 2023. Fans will be treated to three super heroines for the price of one, as Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau will also be there. Can’t wait for D-Day to discover the trio!
