Friends of Ivo Andreev, who was killed on Friday in the women’s market area in Sofia, mourn his ridiculous death on social media. Iva Roudnikova also posted her photo on her Facebook profile. Here’s what she wrote:
“Ivo Andreev and I met in the editorial office of Edno magazine, when he was almost a child and skated. He possessed wisdom and loyalty, atypical for a 20-year-old boy. A brave boy who knows how to cry. Neat.
We worked together, talked a lot, and laughed at my attempts to update my slang with the help of Ivo and Rosen, who are significantly younger than me. Years later, we started seeing each other at protests, I knew Ivo’s wife, photographer Nadia Andreeva. It turned out that we live in the same neighborhood, near the women’s market. Ivo and Nadia, already a wonderful family with a baby girl and a baby boy on the way, were very busy with the dream of building their own home.
He joked that their story could be titled ‘Love During the Renewal’ or ‘One Hundred Years of Renewal’. Today I learned that Ivo Andreev was shot in front of his wife by a neighbor, a former soldier, “because of a door.” http://bit.ly/3GfQQeD It just so happened that an attempt to set up a house in Bulgaria took his life. The man was shot in the women’s market area in Sofia. He died in an ambulance on his way to the hospital. Konstantin Damov, the alleged perpetrator, was arrested. According to preliminary information, he is a former soldier and also worked as a taxi driver. The shooting was reported shortly after 12:00 on Friday on the 911 line.
