With the pandemic affecting the release schedule of GamesJanuary has, in recent years, gone from a completely empty month to a month with games that at least attract the attention of players and potential hits of sales.
January 2023 is already starting full of games and there is a highlight for the anticipated games such as Square Enix’s action RPG ‘Forspoken’, the space horror remake ‘Dead Space’ and the JRPG, ‘One Piece Odyssey”.

“One Piece Odyssey”
The game is part of a project to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “One Piece”. This JRPG developed by ILCA and published by Bandai Nanco had the participation of the author of the franchise, Eiichiro Oda, who contributed to the game’s narration and the design of new characters.
In that game, Luffy and the Straw Hat crew are stranded on Waford Island after the ship is caught in a severe storm that separates the entire crew. This is the premise for a new adventure among natural wonders, powerful enemies and strange encounters with the inhabitants of the mysterious island.
“One Piece Odyssey” arrives for PC, Playstation 4 and 5 and Xbox Series X/S on January 13th.
“Encounter with the Fire Emblem”
The popular JRPG game series, in its next chapter, will allow players to choose the power of heroes from previous games in the series using emblem rings. The Emblem Rings will be the focus of this game, after all even the bad guys will be after the rings to corrupt them.
“Fire Emblem Engage” arrives on Nintendo Switch on January 20th.
“Foreshadowed”
In the new action RPG from Square Enix, the player will take control of Frey, a young New Yorker brought into the cruel world of Athia. During her journey, the protagonist will discover her gift for magic to explore and face monstrous creatures as she tries to get back to her home.
During the game trailers and the demo released, players have already been able to get a taste of what will come from the new IP of Square Enix: lots of action, exploration and combat full of powers and magic.
“Forspoken” arrives for PC and Playstation 5 on January 24th.
“Dead Space Remake”
The space horror franchise will be revamped for the current generation of consoles. In addition to the graphical improvements, the game promises to increase the air of suspense of the original game, leaving players even more immersed in the USG Ishimura ship. Additionally, the remake will feature new mechanics and features.
“Dead Space Remake” arrives January 27 for PC, Xbox Series S/X and Playstation 5.
“Age Of Empire 2: Definitive Edition”
At the behest of many RTS (Real-Time Strategy) fans, Microsoft is bringing the popular strategy game franchise to the Xbox One and Series S/X consoles, starting with the upcoming “Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition”. .
Throughout 2023, Microsoft has also promised to release the latest game in the series, ‘Age of Empires 4’. for consoles.
