And obviously, Xiaomi is also interested in these roll-up screens. In any case, this is what is suggested by an article from the Dutch site letsgodigital.org. In collaboration with “Concept Creator,” the site created renders inspired by Xiaomi patents that would depict a roll-up screen smartphone.
Like the concepts unveiled by other brands, the video below, created by the Concept Creator YouTube channel, shows a device with a screen of standard dimensions. But it is also possible to extend this screen in order to have a larger touch surface, comparable to that of a tablet.
The video is very interesting, but at the moment there is no evidence that Xiaomi will actually launch a roll-up screen smartphone. Indeed, the video was created from a patent. However, companies like Xiaomi, with a large R&D department, do not use all of their intellectual property. But it’s still interesting to see what kinds of smartphones the company’s engineers are thinking about.

But at the moment, these are concepts, not commercial products. And it is possible that these two brands will not launch rollable screen smartphones in the market for a long time.
Otherwise, Samsung Display already has Express his interest in this technology in a post on his Korean blog. And currently there is a rumor that LG could lancer a smartphone using roll-up screens next year. During the presentation of its LG Wing smartphone, the brand even seems to have left a small clue.
