In the state of Colorado, a modern change of vehicles is already implemented, they even pay you to change yours.
It is about not using your old gasoline car anymore and getting a new electric or hybrid one. For such modification you will have an important economic incentive, you will charge between $4,000.00 USD and $6,000.00 USD.
In other words, such a change is a business for all parties involved. The Vehicle Exchange Colorado program has one fundamental requirement. Resident cars eligible for the trade-in must be at least 12 years old or have failed emissions testing.
The subject was referred to by Edward Piersa, program manager for the Colorado Office of Energy. “This is a program that is designed, in large part, to help recycle and replace those older, high-emission vehicles with electric vehicles.”
70 dealers pre-registered on Vehicle Exchange
Program promoters have already confirmed that about 70 Colorado dealers are registered with the Vehicle Exchange. “Partly due to cost, many low-income people have not had access to electric vehicles. This program will help close the gap,” Piersa commented.
More than 12,000 Colorado households, since 2017, have received state tax credits to purchase electric vehicles. Official reports reveal that 80% of these families had annual salaries of $100,000.00 USD.
Only those eligible will be able to receive this economic benefit for changing their gasoline car for an electric or hybrid one. It is essential that the annual income be equal to or less than 80% of the average salary of said North American state.
Piersa concluded by stating that there are currently nearly 90,000 electric cars on the roads of Colorado. “We are looking for significant progress with this program that aims to put 940,000 vehicles of this type into operation by the year 2030.
