Drinking enough water every day is a simple practice that yields infinite health benefits, which may enhance a person’s longevity.
According to experts, drinking water can improve memory, aid in nutrient absorption and increase energy. Therefore, it is essential to know the adequate amount of water daily to ensure you get these benefits.
How much should we drink throughout the day and how does it help us extend life ?, according to Russia Today.
Since water is the main chemical component of our body and makes up about 60% of our body weight, water should be our favorite beverage over sugary drinks full of calories.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that water helps the body maintain a normal temperature, lubricate joints, protect the spinal cord and other sensitive tissues, and clear toxic waste from the body.
Other health benefits of water include reducing fatigue during the day, improving memory, nourishing the skin, improving digestion, aiding in nutrient absorption, detoxifying the body, and improving circulation.
Nutritionist Juliette Kilo and Dietitian Dr. Sarah Brewer said that everyone needs to drink a different amount of water.
They indicated that the daily requirement of water for each individual depends on weight, age, gender, activity level, and the climate in which they live.
But women should generally drink about two liters of water every day, and two and a half liters of water for a man.
“For most of us, about a fifth of the fluid in our diet comes from foods, such as milk, soup, yogurt, and fruits and vegetables,” Kilo and Brewer explain.
Research by the European Food Safety Authority indicates that an adequate daily intake of water is about 2 liters for women and 2.5 liters for men.
And if 20% of this liquid comes from food, then women need to drink 1.6 liters and men need 2 liters of water.
And this, according to the European Food Safety Authority, “about six to eight cups every day. Good hydration helps the body function better for a long time.”
“Compared to other methods of hydration, water is incredibly effective for the simple reason that 60% of our bodies are water,” Chloe said.
She added, “It has been shown to significantly reduce the risks of various health conditions and even certain forms of cancer, thanks to the fact that it enhances the function of our vital organs as well as improves their health.”
She added, “In addition, it flushes out harmful toxins and waste products from the body that could have been retained, which means that higher levels of hydration equate to more detoxification. This in itself leads to a longer and healthier life, because living with the symptoms of dehydration will not exist.” It only has negative effects on a person’s overall health, even if they lead a healthy lifestyle.
She indicated: “Multiple studies have confirmed that there is a correlation between optimal hydration levels and increased life span, which means that drinking the correct amount of water for body weight every day is one of the ways in which an individual can increase longevity in addition to his general health.”
During a normal day, we lose about two liters of water only through breathing, sweat and other functions of the body, according to Dr. Blanca Lisola Mayo, who explains: “Even during sleep, we can lose more than one kilogram of water weight, not only through sweating,” But through breathing too… Even air conditioning has drying effects on our bodies
