Libreville, Sunday May 14, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – The Minister of Decentralization, Cohesion and Territorial Development, Michel Menga M’Essone, and his retinue visited yesterday Saturday the achievements of FEICOM in Mbalmayo.
The stay of the Minister of Decentralization, Cohesion and Territorial Development in Cameroon ended yesterday Saturday with a field visit to Mbalmayo. After the day of exchanges held Friday in Yaoundé on the mechanisms for financing decentralization with a view to the forthcoming launch of the Equalization Fund for Gabon’s municipalities, Michel Menga M’Essone and his retinue went to visit the achievements of the Special Fund for equipment and inter-municipal intervention (FEICOM) in this locality located 50 km south of the Cameroonian capital. In the Mbockulu district, the Gabonese delegation went to the construction site of “L’Ecole de mes rêves” where a school is emerging from the ground inspired by the creative genius of the pupil Frederick Essengue Ekwala who won a national competition organized in 2018 by FEICOM. According to Murielle Marthe Teguel, head of the research, development and innovation unit within this public body, this project which highlights local materials is “a warm and fun school where life is good and learn”. Subsequently, Michel Menga M’Essone and his entourage were led by Dieudonné Zang Mba, Mayor of Mbalmayo, to the market-bus station complex, another FEICOM achievement built in the heart of this city. Still built with the support of FEICOM, it is a spacious, airy and secure shopping center that allows traders and carriers to carry out their activities with complete peace of mind. The Minister of Decentralization, Cohesion and Territorial Development said he was satisfied with this visit to the field. “We note that the type of achievements of FEICOM really express the expectations of the populations. They correspond to their needs and I think that the politicians that we are, we must be inspired by them as much as possible so that our populations can also benefit from this kind of achievement. What brings us here to Cameroon is to see how it works because we want to do the same thing, of course adapting them to the Gabonese context. Each country has a particular context and needs, but nevertheless we have common denominators, a common history and common peoples. We are brothers. The needs that we find here, there are almost everywhere in all the countries of the sub-region, especially in Gabon. The impression is an impression of satisfaction. As a teacher and former Minister of Education, this makes me very happy. Because all the conditions are met for the development of children, “rejoiced Michel Menga M’Essone.
