Paris Saint Germain can FC Barcelona provide an unexpected financial boost. The French top club is interested in Emerson, Diario Sport reports.
Barça en Real Betis collected the 22-year-old right back in 2019 via a joint construction at Atlético Mineiro. Emerson will play on a rental basis in Seville until next summer, after which he has to make the switch to Catalonia. There, however, trainer Ronald Koeman has no place for the Brazilian, due to the presence of Sergi Roberto and Sergiño Dest.
PSG may therefore offer a solution, claims Sport. Technical director Leonardo of the League 1champion sees it in his countryman and has about 25 million euros for him. Part of that amount goes to Real Betis, but Barça would still make about ten million profit on Emerson. A big windfall for the poor Spanish superpower.
Emerson played fourteen times in the First division. He did not score in that, but he did give one assist.
