Britain is scheduled to adopt during the days of the vaccine against Covid-19, which was developed by Biontech and Pfizer, and that deliveries will begin within hours of issuing permission, the Financial Times reported Saturday.
Earlier, Boris Johnson appointed British Prime Minister Nazem Al-Zahawi as Minister responsible for distributing the Covid-19 vaccine, indicating that the government is preparing for a comprehensive vaccination program. Al-Zahawi, who is of Iraqi origin, is Minister of State for Business.
Al-Zahawi will report to Health Minister Matt Hancock in his new position with his primary focus on vaccine deployment, although he will retain some of the responsibilities of his current job.
A statement by the Prime Minister’s Office said today, Saturday, that the new arrangement is temporary and will continue until next summer at least.
