Financial Education Sessions Begin to Leave No One Behind older people and their surroundingswith the aim of explaining one’s rights in front of financial institutions and banking services, investigating how to avoid them exclusion of financial services and provide prevention and safety advice.

Among the informative assignments that the Municipal Consumer Information Office (OMIC) offers permanently throughout the year, it was considered of particular importance to carry out education and prevention with these specific sessions on financial matters in all districts of the city, together with two specialized bodies, AICEC ADICAE and ASUFIN.

A key element for this information to reach older people is the pole, in some cases, of people who are trusted by the elderly environment. Therefore, the sessions are also open to people who want to accompany her.

These sessions, an initiative of the departments of Comerç i Consum and Persones Grans, are face to face and freelasts about an hour and will treat:

  • Consumer relations and consumer rights: in particular, in financial matters and banking products, as well as the attention services of financial and banking institutions.

  • Banking products and financial services: such as basic accounts, cards and commissions, personal loans, mortgages and guarantees (especially cancellations), over-indebtedness, reversible mortgages, annuities and health and life insurance, but also the Second Chance Act and pension plans.

  • Bank online

  • Preventive recommendations: such as home visits, mobile messages and scams.

In addition to these specific financial education sessions, OMIC continues to offer briefing on the different structures and groups throughout the year.
