Agreement on refugee costs – more money for daycare expansion

After a long back and forth, the state government and local authorities pull together. The country does not respond to all demands for refugee costs. But puts something on top of it elsewhere – despite tight budgets in times of crisis.

At the second attempt, the state and local authorities have agreed on the distribution of the costs for the Ukrainian refugees in the south-west. Representatives of the state government and of the city, community and district councils agreed on Friday evening in the Joint Finance Commission, as the German Press Agency in Stuttgart learned. Around 115,000 people have fled to Baden-Württemberg since the start of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine.
