Finance recruits 200 people to assist victims of emergency

“Both the corona crisis and the severe weather mean that many citizens have questions. That is logical and we must and want to offer answers to that,” says Minister Van Peteghem. “That is why the FPS Finance is looking for more than 200 young workers who, under the guidance of experts, want to gain their first work experience by helping people quickly and personally in their search for the right documents and information.”

Van Peteghem cites the example of the mortgage certificate. People who have suffered damage to their home may need this if they want to rely on their insurance. He previously decided to make all the document available free of charge. Now the FPS is looking for dozens of temporary employees through start-up contracts to provide the certificates quickly and correctly.

In addition, the administration is recruiting more than 150 temporary employees to be able to provide quick and correct answers to questions from private individuals and entrepreneurs about, for example, the consequences of support measures on taxes and customized repayment plans.
