Finance law: these ministries which will recruit the most in 2025

Despite donors’ recommendations to reduce the wage bill, the government continues to recruit. Thus, the finance bill for 2025 provides for the creation of 28,906 budget positions, compared to double last year, indicates the daily The Economist in its edition of Friday October 25.

«Of this total, the Ministry of the Interior will have the largest share with 7,744 budget items. An effort was made this year for the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which was allocated 6,500 positions. It is followed by the National Defense Administration with 5,792 positions», lit.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance will have 2,600 positions, that of Higher Education will have 1,759 positions and the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration 1,000 positions.

The rest of the departments will have fewer than 1,000 positions: the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs will benefit from 400 positions, National Education 364, the Superior Council of the Judiciary 350 and the Ministry of Agriculture 230. The Ministry of Justice will have 205 posts, the Royal Court 200 and the same for the Ministry of Equipment and Water. Added to this are the Ministry of Youth with 160 and that of Foreign Affairs with 155. The rest of the departments and bodies will each have less than 100 positions.

«In addition to this distribution, the head of government is authorized to distribute 500 budgetary items between the different ministerial departments or institutions. Of this number, it must reserve 200 positions for the benefit of people with disabilities. It should be noted that for several years, unified recruitment competitions in the civil service, all categories combined, have been organized for the benefit of people with disabilities. They took place under the supervision of the head of government and in coordination with other ministries“, explain The Economist.

At the same time, the public administration will have to find solutions to significant retirements over the next five years. Some 65,213 civil servants are expected to retire due to age limits during the period 2024-2028. This represents 13% of the current number of State civilian personnel.
