In the towns of Burgwedel and Verden an der Aller, tax revenues from successful companies and economical management play an important role in the good financial situation. Verden also claims to benefit from an action plan for the permanent budget balance, which is evaluated and updated annually. However, the towns will not be able to get by without debt in the future.
Both are planning investments in areas such as education and fire protection, which can only be financed through loans. The municipality of Scheeßel in the Rotenburg district also needs loans for planned investments, as Mayor Ulrike Jungemann announced. The municipality has therefore benefited for a long time from the sale of the municipal utilities.
