Reuters quoted sources as saying Meta chairman Zuckerberg told employees that compared to Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger’s ability to make money is still in its infancy. Zuckerberg pointed out that the company still believes Metaverse is a long-term business opportunity in the future, but the reality is that WhatsApp and Messenger have a better chance of driving the company’s next wave of sales growth, so the company is still studying how to make these two programs more profitable.
According to the report’s analysis, Zuckerberg’s statement this time reflects a policy shift from last year’s ambitious announcement of the establishment of the Metaverse, and corporate communications could become Meta’s next major pillar.
