As we have already informed you, today the start of the modernization of the railway junction “Plovdiv” was given, which is among the most important railway connections in Bulgaria, of great regional economic and strategic importance.
Now Plovdiv24.bg gives you the opportunity to get acquainted with the official visualizations of the project for the breakthrough under Central Station, which were provided to us by the NRIC press center.
This project was discussed in early September 2012. Then with a question mark in the title we wrote that “Vasil Aprilov passes under the Central Station, unlocking the transport hub in the area?”.
Here that 9 years and 3 months later the official first sod of its realization became a fact.
The communication and transport breakthrough under the Central Railway Station will connect the southern districts of the city with the center. The route of the breakthrough is compliant and follows the underground passage from the Vasil Aprilov Blvd. to the Macedonia Blvd. below the area of the station complex, provided for in the general development plan of the city of Plovdiv. Convenient vertical pedestrian connections will also be built.
The value of the contract is BGN 89,028,245.95 without VAT. The contractor is the Association Plovdiv Project DZZD, including the companies Trace Group Hold AD and Balkantel OOD.
Project “Modernization of railway, contact network and signaling and telecommunications systems in Plovdiv station and construction of communication and transport breakthrough under the railway area of Plovdiv station” is part of the project “Development of Plovdiv railway junction” and is co-financed by the Mechanism Connecting Europe (CEF).
