Finally the Taktraum Festival again!

After a two-year Covid break, the crew around the Taktraum Festival will start again this weekend. With the usual enthusiasm and a mix of local greats, newcomers and well-known headliners, the two-day Ingolstadt festival is entering its ninth round, meanwhile for the seventh time at Reduit Tilly. The site is being set up diligently, the atmosphere is exuberant and the old reduit is slowly but surely transforming into the usual colorful backdrop of the festival spectacle. “In general, I’m just happy to be back on site with the whole crew, to work with them, to see old and new faces,” says Chris Britt, one of the organizers.

Daydream for the last time this year?

But despite all the euphoria, the organizational team also has to spread sad news: In its current form, there will probably not be an eighth time in the Reduit Tilly after the Corona period, which was difficult for the organizers. That would be a severe blow to Ingolstadt’s art and culture scene, in which the festival has long been an established name.

During the Covid-related break, the organizational team, which also includes Diego Richter and Phil Schmid, put together a cultural program of events with their “Backyard Beauty” series. Despite a lot of effort and expense, the replacement program was not able to bring in the numbers that had been hoped for. Apparently, this alternative wasn’t enough for the festival fans: “We have the feeling that the desire for a new Taktraum festival and also the enthusiasm and joy on the part of the visitors is definitely there,” says Chris Britt. According to the organizers, sponsors and organizers are already in the starting blocks, and advance sales have been really good.

The flair of the event is emphasized above all by the unusual location: we celebrate, dance and eat in the middle of the Reduit Tilly, the heart of the state fortress of Ingolstadt in the immediate vicinity of the Danube. The entrance situation has been changed this year so that those who love to party and dance no longer have to wait on the street for their longed-for entrance. This also made it possible to gain space for the festival. The Tilly-Floor will also be redesigned – true to the motto: “The usual – just different again”, reveals Phil Schmid mischievously. What else can you expect? “We don’t want to reinvent the wheel after a two-year break,” says Chris Britt.

So fans of the festival can look forward to well-tried elements and familiar faces; Phil Schmid is still planning two new light installations. The artistic handicraft market will again be one of the many highlights this year, a live hairdresser and a tattoo stand will be part of the party, and the food court and bars on the site will provide sufficient food and drinks. In the words of Phil Schmid: “Simply a lot of light and love!” If you want to get an impression, go to www.instagram.com/ taktraumfestival.

Tickets in advance and at the box office

The two-day festival begins on Friday. Admission is from 4 p.m., on Saturday from 3 p.m. This year visitors can look forward to an extra hour until one o’clock in the morning – a real “enrichment for the evening”, says Chris Britt.

Tickets for the Taktraum Festival on July 29th and 30th in Reduit Tilly can still be purchased in advance online via the homepage www.taktraumfestival.de, in the “well done” hairdressing salon and in the Westpark. In addition to the normal tickets, there are also the so-called “supporter tickets” for everyone who wants to give the festival a helping hand. At the box office, as every year, “First come, first serve!” – so don’t dally!
