After several expenses and planning changes, the Sächsische Aufbaubank can finally open its new building in Leipzig.
The SAB officially opened its new building in Leipzig on Thursday. According to SAB, the new building accommodates around 500 workplaces, of which 200 are initially occupied. Later on, around 400 employees will work in Leipzig.
The bank has a total of more than 1000 employees. Saxony’s Finance Minister Hartmut Vorjohann (58, CDU) said at the opening that the new location offered opportunities for further strategic development. Customers from the region in particular would benefit.
The building is divided into a part used for business purposes and a part accessible to the public. The latter is an architecturally striking so-called column garden with 159 columns.
The new SAB building was built in place of an old Robotron building from GDR times that was demolished.
