TRIBUN-BALI.COM – The world has finally found a millipede that actually has 1,000 legs.
Animals that have 1,000 legs is the first discovery in the world.
Scientists from researchers at Virginia Tech University on Thursday 16 December 2021 found a creature with long, skinny, segmented features with 1,306 feet.
The animal exceeds the size of other similar species.

Millipede is the official name for millipedes, actually it’s not really millipedes, but around 750.
The millipede species was found at a depth of 60 meters underground just outside the drill area of the mining area Western Australia.
The animal with 1,000 legs was also given a name Eumillipes Persphone.
The study’s author was named Paul Brand of Virginia Tech University explain the meaning behind the name.
“The species name comes from the Greek mythological goddess of the underworld, Persephone, who was originally from the surface but was brought to the underworld by Hades,” he explained.
