Finally … Jokowi Disbanded 10 State Institutions

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially dissolved 10 non-structural institutions. The dissolution aims to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of government affairs and to achieve the national development strategic plan.

The decision was stated in Presidential Regulation Number 112 of 2020 which was signed by Jokowi on November 26, 2020.

The ten non-structural institutions include the National Research Council, the Food Security Council, the Surabaya-Madura Regional Development Agency, the National Sports Accreditation and Standardization Body, and the Indonesian Hajj Supervisory Commission.


Then the National Economic and Industry Committee, the Telecommunication Advisory Board, the National Commission for Seniors, the Indonesian Professional Sports Agency, and the Indonesian Telecommunications Regulatory Body.

“This Presidential Regulation comes into force on the date of promulgation (on November 26, 2020),” wrote Article 7 of the regulation.

Previously, the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Tjahjo Kumolo revealed that the government would again dissolve 29 state institutions.

According to Tjahjo, his party has completed the study and will announce the dissolution of 10 state institutions in the near future. Meanwhile, 19 other state institutions will be disbanded in 2021 due to regulations that will be discussed with the Indonesian Parliament.

“[Tahun] These are 10, 19 of which we will convey to the DPR next year because these are related to laws that must be discussed with the DPR, “said Tjahjo in a Working Meeting with Commission II of the Indonesian Parliament at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Thursday (19/11/2020 ).

Tjahjo said that one of the state institutions that would be dissolved was the Suramadu Bridge Authority Agency. He said, there were too many overlapping agencies in these state institutions.
