Finalists Decided in Indian Wells: Lukashenka and Muscovite in Bedding Battle

On the night of March 18, the semi-final matches of the WTA 1000 series hard tournament took place in Indian Wells (USA).

The first racket of the world Iga Swiatek (Poland) could not get into the final of the competition. In the 1/2 finals, Iga devastatingly lost to Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan, WTA 10) in two sets in 1 hour and 17 minutes. Rybakina was born in Moscow and represented Russia until 2018, but then received Kazakh citizenship.

Note that last year Sventek took the trophy on these courts.

Another semi-final also did not please. The champion of the Australian Open 2023 Arina Sobolenko, who is not against the self-proclaimed president of her country of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, defeated Maria Sakkari (Greece, WTA 7) in two sets in 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Earlier, Sobolenko and Rybakina played in the finals of AO 2023. Then, as mentioned above, Arina took the trophy.
